Prematurity Awareness Day

Today is Prematurity Awareness Day. As you might expect, we're big fans of the March of Dimes and we wanted to do our small part to support the good work that they do. We will be making a yearly donation to the March of Dimes, in Max's honor. If it were not for modern medicine and the medical advances made by prematurity research, our baby wouldn’t be here today. By supporting prematurity awareness, education, and research, we’d like to think we’re helping to spare future families the struggle and hard times that we went through. We’ve been very fortunate and blessed – every premature baby deserves such a happy outcome.

So Grown up AlreadyAs far as Max news goes, we've spotted tooth number seven and we believe tooth number eight is not far behind. Of course, that means that young master Max won't be sleeping through the night any time soon. We're looking forward to a teething break after these last two teeth come in -- he should be done until his 12-year molars, but between his chronological age (when he was actually born) and his adjusted age (when he should have been born), we never know when he's going to do anything. ;) He definitely keeps us guessing -- I'm just hoping he waits a couple of months to get those molars! He looks pretty cute, though, with his toothy little grin!

On the moveMax is definitely mobile and loving every minute of it. He's still not crawling "properly," although he's inchworming all over the place. He's started to take some proper "steps" with his hands, so we think he'll figure it out before too long. Of course, now that he's everywhere and into everything, we realize that we need to do some serious babyproofing. The things Max most seems to want to play with are the very things that he especially can't play with. He has a particular penchance for power cords. He also likes to attempt to chew on the wheels of his stroller, as well as any part of the dog that is within reach.

I'm uploading new photos to Flickr on a regular basis, so you can always check there for the latest and greatest Max photos!
