Denise tagged me for an Eight Random Things About College Me quiz. So, here are the rules!
- Each player must post these rules first.
- Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
- Tagged people post their eight things and these rules.
- End your post by "tagging" eight new people to play.
- Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog for these instructions.
So, without further ado:
- My alma mater is the University of Michigan - I'm a born and bred Wolverine!
- I studied English and religion, confident that my liberal arts degree would cause prospective employers to throw fame, fortune, and glory my way. (*snort*)
- I worked in one of the university libraries for four years. I never wore glasses or a bun in my hair, but I did get medieval on your hiney if you were delinquent in paying your overdue fines. Suspending borrowing privileges gave me a heady sense of power.
- My second to last semester I arranged my schedule (and, to a certain extent, selected my classes) so that I would have no classes before 10 a.m. and no Friday classes at all. I wish the business world would get on board with that schedule!
- In addition to my library job, I spent a year supervising the sandwich sales counter at the infamous Zingerman's Delicatessen. I STILL have most of the sandwich numbers, names, and ingredients memorized. We got free meals when we worked, so I pretty much lived off of deli food for a year. My favorite breakfast when I worked the morning shift was their egg and potato frittata and their sour cream coffee cake (both recipes I wish I had). My favorite meal when I worked the afternoon/night shift was the veggie reuben - #36, Lila and Izzie's Skokie Skidoo (see, told you I still had them memorized). We also got all the free coffee we could drink. Yum.
- I bought a blender for the sole purpose of making strawberry daquiris (isn't that the reason everyone buys their first blender?).
- I had a friend whose hobby was brewing his own beer. When invited to parties, he would bring a bunch of his home-brewed beer, drink the (much better) commercially bottled beer provided by his hosts, and leave his nasty skunk beer behind. I thought this was a brilliant scam.
- Some friends and I played the Star Wars Drinking Game on several occasions. The fact that we all thought it was tremendous fun drives home the point that we were all card-carrying geeks (and proud of it). Do I even need to mention that we all worked at the library? Ahh, those were the days!
And, here are the lucky souls that I'm tagging. I'm violating rule number five and leaving you all to meme or not, as you so desire (I'm not linking private blogs or blogs of people who haven't already left comments here, in case they want to retain their anonymity):
TZ
LibrariAnne
Madd Babies
King Procrastinator
Maggie (Sarah's Mom)
Dawn
apoz
Twin Kemmets
Knock yourselves out (or don't)!

My name looks so sad and lonely all unhyperlinked and black and all. I guess if I ever got around to posting a comment instead of just lurking about, I wouldn't have that problem.
Thanks for tagging me (20). Didn't even know I was playing.
Oh no, we can't have you being all lonely -- consider yourself linked! I didn't want to "expose" anyone who might want to keep their blog under wraps (although I suppose that kind of defeats the purpose of a blog ;).
Thanks for playing with us Ime. Great list! Hugs.
